Annissa Fragoso is a Central Valley native, a passionate community leader, and a dedicated insurance professional with nearly two decades of experience. Born and raised in Tracy, CA, Annissa moved to Merced in 1995 and has proudly called this community home for over 25 years. In 2012, after earning her A.A. in Criminal Justice from Merced College, Annissa opened her own Farmers Insurance agency in downtown Merced. Over the next 11 years, she built that agency into one of the area’s most trusted sources for insurance, helping hundreds of families and businesses protect their assets and plan for the future.

In 2023, Annissa took a bold step to better serve her clients’ needs: she transitioned from being a Farmers® agent to launching her independent brokerage, The Insurance Lady. This change allows Annissa to offer a wider array of insurance products from multiple top-rated carriers, rather than a single company’s offerings. Her motivation has always been simple – to ensure each client gets the right coverage at the right price, with the personal attention they deserve. As an independent agent, Annissa can truly tailor policies to each client’s situation, whether it’s finding a more affordable auto policy or customizing comprehensive coverage for a local business.

What hasn’t changed is Annissa’s unwavering commitment to exceptional service. Clients describe her as knowledgeable, personable, and tenacious in advocating for their best interests. Community Leadership and Values

Annissa isn’t just an insurance lady by profession – she’s also a community-minded woman at heart. She currently serves as the President of the Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MCHCC), where she has been a board member for nearly 10 years. In this role, Annissa has spearheaded initiatives to support small businesses – from helping local entrepreneurs navigate COVID-19 challenges to organizing networking events and resources that spur economic recovery. She is also a board member of the Merced Main Street Association, working to revitalize Merced’s downtown district, and previously served on the board of the Kids Discovery Station children’s museum (2020–2023), helping bring educational enrichment to local youth.

In 2024, Annissa put her passion for service into action by running for a seat on the Merced County Board of Supervisors (District 2). While she ultimately did not win the election, her campaign spoke volumes about her values. Annissa championed local causes such as improving the downtown area and preserving our region’s water supply for future generations. Her willingness to step up as a candidate demonstrated her commitment to making positive change in Merced. Even outside of politics, Annissa continues to advocate fiercely for the community – whether it’s through volunteer work, public service, or simply being a voice for her neighbors.
